The rotring scanner has instead of the usual ink container so-called capillary cartridge. Replacing the cartridge with a new one actually leads to the simultaneous total exchange of ink; this ensures full ink purity and a new pressure equalization system. This means in practice that the pressure equalization system does not have to be cleaned. Coloured tips help you find the right thickness.
