Paints of the highest artistic quality, world-class. These are among the last paints produced using traditional technology, using only natural pigments with the addition of gum arabic and honey. Three-quarters of the paints are made from a single pigment. The paints were produced in St. Petersburg, Russia, at a company operating since 1934. All paints mix perfectly. Granulated colors bring a new perspective to the watercolor technique. As they dry, pigment particles clump together, creating interesting spots and shades, changing the surface texture with a "grainy" effect. This makes granulation ideal for painting skies, backgrounds, and other large, wet areas of a painting.
