Caran d'ache luminance 6901 set of 100 drawing pencils in a wooden case

Caran d'Ache is known worldwide for producing the highest quality art products. In 2008, to meet the needs of its customers, the company introduced premium artists' pencils called Luminance 6901. When developing the graphite formula for Luminance pencils, the company adhered to the highest ASTM standards for classifying artists' pencils in terms of light sensitivity, hence the name Luminance 6901 (from the word lumen, meaning light; and the 6901 series, from the standard designation D-6901).

Luminance pencils guarantee 100 years of lightfastness (under museum conditions), meaning that work created with these pencils will not fade or change color over time. The highest-quality pigments used in the graphite (3.8 mm) ensure deep and intense colors. The innovative wax-based formula ensures a soft, almost velvety, smooth drawing experience. Luminance 6901 pencils are made of cedarwood and sharpen very well. They are coated with several coats of clear, water-based varnish, which is non-toxic and environmentally friendly.

The set includes a full range of 100 colors housed in a light oak case. It also includes nine additional pencils in duplicates of best-selling colors (001, 009, 070, 661, 713, 801, 832, 862, 872), two pencil blenders (CD902-001), one full blender, and a 2-page color chart.
