Charcoal water made from grated charcoal and gum arabic. The charcoal particles are small and have the richest black, which allows you to do any job just like with water-based paint. Since the charcoal particles are slightly larger than the other pigments used in watercolor, there is an interesting granulation effect. This can be enhanced by using finer paper and by the amount of water added. After drying, the charcoal is dull, and we see various areas of texture and granulation.
As gum arabic is a highly soluble medium, it allows Charcoal Water to be reused, similar to watercolor paints.
The main features of the carbon in the tube:
- perfect for both expressive and delicate works
- useful for drawing, sketching and watercolors as it can be used for drawing and painting
- perfect as an additional paint to watercolor shades of black, to enrich the color palette
- huge tonal possibilities and a range of shades that can be created with one brush stroke, from velvety black to light gray, with blue and brown undertones
- allows you to create a variety of textures and granularities
- compared to black watercolor paint, it shows differences in pigment granulation, which is useful for special effects or for creating very strong shades, also by mixing with other paints
- can be reactivated with water after drying
- can be used wet or dry
- you can apply it with various brushes and other painting tools, as well as with your fingers
- can be used with any absorbent surfaces such as watercolor papers, canvases and panels previously coated with a watercolor primer / primer.
- to secure the finished work, it is recommended to use a fixative.
