Schmincke Aqua Lift-off Medium should be used on watercolor paper before applying the paint. The medium insulates the paper, which makes it possible to remove dried paint from the paper. When using soft papers, the medium should be applied directly from the bottle, while when using thick, absorbent paper, the medium should be diluted with water.
