Liquitex Professional Bio-Based Medium is an innovative product line that combines high quality and performance with environmental concerns. The use of Liquitex Bio-Based Medium allows to increase the surface gloss, color depth and transparency of paints, while lowering the viscosity of denser paints and improving their fluidity. Importantly, the medium extends the performance of paint without adhesion, durability or quality being adversely affected. The product is semi-transparent in its liquid state and becomes transparent when dry, giving artists a wide range of possibilities to experiment with visual effects.

A key feature of the line is the use of ingredients derived from renewable sources, such as corn, soy, sugar cane and algae, which replace half of the traditionally used petroleum-derived ingredients in the resin base. This innovative approach significantly reduces dependence on non-renewable fossil resources, while maintaining all the desirable properties of the acrylic medium. The medium can be mixed with acrylic paints in any ratio, allowing precise control over the viscosity and transparency of the mixture. In addition, the product can be diluted with water (preferably distilled) up to 25% by volume, while maintaining acrylic stability.
