Charbonnel Lamour Black Satin Hard Ground is a hard black liquid varnish for graphic works. It has a smooth consistency, its composition is based on Judean bitumen (gives chemical acid protection and gives an opaque and dull colour), turpentine extract (dries slowly, gives a medium surface glossy finish), quick drying oil (dries faster than turpentine extract, gives a more matte finish) and wax (prevents exfoliation). Before applying the varnish, the metal surface should be thoroughly cleaned of grease and other impurities. The product should be applied with a brush. It leaves a satin, covered finish.
